Visiting PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami)

Perez Art Museum Miami or PAMM (previously known as the Miami Art Museum) is a pleasant experience for all ages. PAMM provides the fun, fresh South Florida air of the outdoors with artistic beauty, dining, and culture.

PAMM was remodeled in 2013 by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog and de Meuron after the city and local developer Jorge Perez wanted to remodel the museum. PAMM has a great 30-acre waterfront view. Under the blue and sunlit sky, the waterfront view is wondrous. Like a mirror, but never showing exactly what is above, but converting the image reflection on the water to a beautifully smudged and broken piece. The waterfront is also right next to the Miami Science Museum and Museum Park in the middle of downtown Miami.

The dining at PAMM, Verde, offers a great menu selection and great views of the water. The menu has options such as Margarita Pizza, vegetable bowls, chicken, lobster, and tacos. If you’re a morning person, then Verde at PAMM also offers yummy stacks of buttermilk pancakes, fresh coffee, and French toast.

PAMM is a three-story building covered in a canopy of bright green plants. The outdoor patio is great for exploring and seeing the outdoor garden and waterfront area. The canopy allows for the perfect amount of lighting to leek through and the tropical plants create a cool breeze throughout the patio.

PAMM has an indoor space of 200,000-square-feet of modern, local, sculptures, and international artwork. Artwork that is fun, informative, and sometimes thought-provoking. Galleries are located mostly throughout the first and second floor.

The museum has natural lighting throughout and the rooftop garden is a local favorite. The rooftop garden offers the some of the best views of downtown Miami. Looking down you’ll see the trees, the waterfront area, and the busy people going on about the day. Up there, it’s like standing on a giant’s back exploring the world with awe.
