Me Gusta El Camino Mexican Soul Food and Tequila Bar

Updated: Apr 2, 2018

‘El Camino Mexican Soul Food and Tequila Bar’ located in Delray Beach is serving some of the best Mexican food and drink prices in South Florida. ‘El Camino’ has great prices on alcoholic beverages and even greater prices on tacos, burritos, Quesada’s, and all types of Mexican cuisine.

According to their website, 'El Camino',

“Started life as a car dealership in the 1930s. A striking mural by artist Ruben Ubiera transformed the building and the streetscape.” El Camino opens on to the street and serves as an entry point to Delray Beach's Pineapple Grove neighborhood."

If you are a vegetarian, vegan, or looking for something on the lighter and healthier side, then ‘El Camino’ has plenty of great options. Vegan and veggie tacos that are just as good. Veggie filled tacos with mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes. Also, the side of pinto beans is ridiculously good and one of my personal favorite side dishes.

Monday Margarita’s and Taco Tuesdays

The line and crowd can get very busy on Monday and Tuesday Nights. On Mondays, ‘El Camino’ has $3.00 margarita’s and Taco Tuesdays will only cost you $2.00. The wait time can be up to two hours, but the wit is worth it. While you’re waiting to be called the Delray Beach area has beautiful scenery, graffiti art to admire, and a few stores you may want to peek into.

The area is loud and vibrant on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you personally want tasty Mexican food without all the hustle and bustle of things, maybe you can go on another day of the week or make reservations.

The prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food you’re getting. The portion sizes were huge and very filling. Taking leftovers back home may be the safe way to go if you don’t want to over indulge. On the other hand, once you take that first bite of sour cream, tomatoes, salsa, and guacamole all in one bite, you’re going to want to finish it. Speaking of guacamole, the guacamole is most likely some of the best you’ll have. It’s fresh, creamy with little chunks still in there, and the chip may break once or twice depending on how much guac your trying to scoop.

The atmosphere is relaxing with comfy booths, great service, music, and friendly people. The people are willing to make small talk, mingle, suggest food, and make you feel welcomed. I’ll just say I made a friend that night who may have had to many margaritas who kept wanting to sing R&B and old school RUN-DMC songs to me.

‘El Camino’ is always rocking with a fun atmosphere and some of the best Mexican food you’ll have in South Florida and probably any restaurant. No matter what you’re ordering, it all seems delicioso.
